i use a car kit tape player thing that has a jack connected to a tape. they cost like 5 bucks and works great. and i get to keep my stock deck which means no jackass is going to break into my honda n steal my deck, which happens way too often in my area. for hondas always getting jacked

Wow, $200 on up for the connection between the radio and the iPod. This is outrageous, it's worth maybe $30 or $40 at the most.

That's a good find but instead of that, look at just buying a new Alpine from someplace like Crutchfield.

Pick up the CDA 9856 for $199 (or if you are interested in XM, get the CDA 9820XM for $249). You'll need an iPod interface cable for $30 for these radios (a lot less than $200). Or if you want to get fancy, get the CDA 9857 for $350 which displays the song information on the radio (I don't thikn the CDA 9856 does that).

Was at my brother-in-law's house over the weekend, he just bought a new Odyssey and, yes, had them put in the iPod adapter (it was part of the negotiated price).

I was shocked, I really didn't think he would ever buy an iPod.

It was a case of my having to bite my lip, there was no use in telling him about the Alpines since the work was already done and he appeared excited about being able to hook up the iPod. The next time I'm at his house I'll check it out - I'm curious to see if the display on the radio shows the artist / song information.
