Why do we need scatter sheilds ????????????

Default Why do we need scatter sheilds ????????????

i want to thank Maxworx for saving my life and motor this could have been a catastrophe but instead it wasnt as bad as it could have been.
just thought you guy should see this
ohh james the scatter sheild is officially tested for SFI approved.

back in 97, pomona race i had an act clutch blow up..no scattershields then it cut a 12 " hole in the floor and hit me in the finger//
nice work on the shield/// and good your allright buck..

cant say on the flywheel right now because the problem will get fixed and inthe process of that right now

haha im fine i was just pissed it was after my 9.7 pass on elimination round
it happen on 3-4 shift

just broke a little chip off of it nothing major that bellhousing is been threw **** and back now (so much patching its unreal)

yea you should...i remember like back in 01' i went to a local DSM shop and i seen a talon sitting outside the shop with a clutch disc stuck inside of the CF hood it had on ....like it shot out and got stuck there...that was the craziest thing ive ever seen

Its not Exedy, it is something with a 2 piece aluminum flywheel.

LOL no its not but i did have it figured out and the promblem is being resolved
just want to show you guys how a cklutch can do damage and what the sheild can do the help u

You know i had that same problem,but it didnt get as far as that, i heard a rattling sound and decided to drop the tranny,sure enough the screws that hold the ring gear on the flywheel started backing out at high rpms, it Probably was the same company,I will not name either cause we worked with them on getting the problem solved,and they were very good at warantying 2 flywheels on 2 seperate occasions...
Ultimatly what they did was put some kind of lock washer on the back of the hex screw that holds the ring gear in place,and instead of only 3 hex screws they put 6 for extra reinforcement.

Still dont understand why they dont make a 1 piece..

Fidanza has had problems on dsm's with there flywheels and i know they make flywheels for certain twin disks. The solution was a different grade of aluminum

you should really tell the name of who made that clutch it could help out people who might have this same issue

I know my comp clutch has only 3 hex screws holding the outer ring on to the clutch. its held up fine so for.
