Default Eagle rods spun a bearing. Rods still usable? Pics inside.

I got these from a person that spun a bearing. They still look good enough to use? Or did the heat weaken the metal?

no one here is going to know the answer.
However, as cheap as eagle rods are, it would only make sense to replace them and not take the chance.

depends what you want to use them for ?

x-mas tree ornament, paper weight, small boat anchor.... it would be perfect for any of these apps.

Yes, I mean cheap in price. I think the quality is excellent. I used eagles in my own build as well.

That rod can be re-used if you rebuild it. The discoloration is no big deal. It would need new rod bolts also. For the cost of doing that, I would just buy one new rod directly from Eagle. You will need to know the weight of the rod when ordering it so it can be matched to the weight of your other 3 rods. Cost of a new rod should be around $100 max.

IMO If you are going to be building a motor why not just do it right the first time so you don't have to go spending extra money because you used someone else parts that are in unknown condition.

I had a friend that took his stock rods to the machine shop for some new pistons. They had that same color discoloration, only at the top. They are still going strong in his car, boosted. But for a 100 bucks, i woulodn't risk it either.
