Default 24.5/9.5/13 slicks with a 270whp civic?? Are these too big?

I was just wondering if 24.5/9.5/13 slicks ( bogart flylites ) will be fine with 270whp? Are these slicks too big for me?

The setup is
Bone stock B16 w/ b16 tranny
Precision SC32 at 11 psi
Gutted EG hatchback weighing in at about 1950 w/o driver

I recently picked up some bogarts and these are the slicks that were included. Im worried about not having enough power to run these slicks. What do you guys think? I was thinking of just running them at a slightly higher pressure to conpensate.

just a little too big. Try 22x8x13 with that much power. If you're planning to up the power real soon then, stick with your original plan.

i tried 22s before and they are just too small, meaning I have to shift into 5th right at the end of the 1/4. Im thinking with these taller slicks ill be able to keep it in 4th.

Hi xtremeazian: Well you have the slicks try them out and see what happens. The M&H 8/23-13 would be a better set up for you.

I attempted to run that size when i had roughly 300whp and no 2 step and bogged horribly..i swithced to 22x8x15's and 22x8x13's and that was a perfect size for set up

Turbodav on here has 299whp.. runing 24.5" M/T. He's an exceptional driver, but has netted 11.40 @ 111mph(had to shut down do to runing out of fuel.. lol) His car tipically traps around 118mph.. He had 1.63 60ft on that pass with no 2step or drag launch.. basic sleeved coilover w/ Kyb agx shocks. Full interior, bolt-in 4pt cage. Peakboost turbo kit with the t3/04 turbo on 8psi..

what psi were you running the 24.5's when you bogged ? I know that i need a taller tire than a 22" because im forced to shift into 5th. Im going to try them out this weekend and see how it goes.

how are you going to shift to 5th? i dont think your going to trap more than 120mph with 270whp. Stick to the 22 in.

Just keep the tire PSI up with those if they're a little too big, you're still going to trap slower with these, but you should get considerable traction as long as you don't bog with them.

should be good.. If your bogging too much crank up the tire pressure a bit. The short gears should be on your side.

I ran 22x8 with LS trans on 260whp and it was a perfect match.

23's your best bet. u have an lsd or open diff, because u don't want to break ur tranny going that big.

The 23" would be the best bet for your setup. Unless you want to rev another 800 rpm higher and use the 22"s.
