89 CRX DX with a 95 B18B1, Wiring Problems
I was trying to convert my car over to grey plug and was following the walk through that StorminMatt posted(a post from the message boards at resource.crx.org) but have run into some problems. I have changed the distributer plugs over (pictured below). Does this look right?
Heres the thermoswitch plug
Now heres the part im having trouble with...
I have looked at the LS wiring harness and have found only one 8-wire connector (there are only seven going to it with one empty) but the connector stops right there.
Is this the right 8-wire connector? If this is the correct connector what do I do? Could someone help explain this to me? Any help would be appreciated.

3. Change injector plugs and eliminate the resistor. This is fairly straightforeward if you have an HF/SI. Simply connect like colors on the ECU side of the plug. On the hot side, it may actually be easier if you use the complete 1992-1995 wire all the way back to the 8-wire connector. Then you can connect the 8-wire connector where the injector resistor was. This saves time and soldering. Of course, if you have a DPFI model, you will need to add the 8-wire connector to the wire going to the hot side of the injectors and add two wires from the extra injectors to the ECU plugs in the passenger cabin.

Best that I can help you is give you 2 options.
1) Why not just stick with the friggin non-OBD wiring? Stormin is always trying to talk peoeple into doing that god-aweful OBD conversion. IT's not like using the newer electronics is going to give you a HUGE increase in power. You might get 5HP and a few MPG for your trouble.
It's not that hard to convert a DX to MPFI. After that all you need are 88-91 Civic/CRX Si injectors, and a 90-91 teg distributor and ECU. Plug and play.
2) http://www.autolibrary.org has the wiring for a good many cars. Don't forget to d/l that plugin they use to display their wiring diagrams
All I can say is good luck. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I'm having trouble as well... The distributor wires are not the same colors as in Storminmatt's guide... doh! I'm putting a D16Y8 into my CRX with an OBD-I computer.
Well, the way I see it, 5HP is quite a bit. This is more power that you are likely to get from a good header. And a few extra MPG can save quite a bit of money in the long run. Of course, neither of these factors take into consideration the smog legality factor in California. The refs really do check to see that you are running the proper ECU. I would say that all this stuff certainly makes the effort involved in rewiring worthwhile, don't you? As for wire colors, I believe I mentioned that the wire colors I gave are only for 1992-1995 Civics. Accord, Integra, and Prelude plugs will work. But colors will differ on some wires. On the other hand, I have yet to see a plug with different colored distributer plugs. They have always been orange, orange/blue, white, white/blue, blue/yellow, and blue/green with a fat yellow/green wire for the ignitor signal.
As for DX injector wiring, untape the entire DX harness and get the entire injector 'subharness' from a 1992-1995 harness. Make sure that when you remove the 'subharness', you get all wires and pins. Don't cut anything until you start to connect wires. The yellow/black wires will be rerouted to the driver's side plug on the DX harness, where the 8-wire connector will be located. On the 8-wire connector, there will be one short wire that connects to the driver's side plug on the 1992-1995 harness. Connect this wire to one of the yellow/black injector hot wires on the DX harness. It doesn't matter which, as either will do. Just make sure you remove the unused one from the plug. Connect the red and yellow injector wires to the red and yellow wires that connected the original DX injectors to the driver's side plug. Run the other brown and light blue wires to the passenger die of the vehicle and to the appropriate ECU pins for those injectors. It is best to have a plug for all added wires to make future engine removal easier.

I just read your problem,
you got the right 8wire connector, your instruction said you need to get rid of the resistor box, then it's done, now what you see over the plug is what we mainly call a short connector, it's a cap comming over the plug it relies all the wire together.
Now you got one wire comming IN and like 7 wire comming OUT of it.
remember the inlet is the one wire not the sevent other, you must know the seven other wire are going to each injector and other instruments i can't name from memory now .
hope this help.
see ya

Thanks for all the help. I have got a lot of replies from the posts I have made on a few message boards and I appreciate it. I'm going to try and finish up the wiring this weekend and hopefully have a running car by Monday
