Clutch Pedal Broke
My clutch pedal broke in my 89 crx si. I wanted to know if anyone has removed the pedal assembly before or has any tips for when I go to the bone yard. The factory manual does not have any procedures. I didn't get a good look at it becuase it happened at night. Any info much appreciated.
How did it break. Did it fall off or does it travel to the floor and not come up,or break in half? I got a brandnew oem clutch pedal from honda for sale.
Its broken at the pivot point for the pedal. I was racing and when I slammed 2nd the pedal broke apart. I quess my left leg finally got back at the exedy stage 2.
heres a tip,,either take out the dash or drop the steering column to give you more space..this pedal breaking crap is common even on stock clutches..it sucks
it happened to me. i pulled the assembly off a car in the boneyard and put it on. if you can, have the welds reinforced before you put the "new" one on.
it is just awkward to get up in there -- otherwise, the remove and install is pretty straightforward. it helps to remove the one at the junkyard first, because that way you know what to do when it comes time to take it off your own car.

Yeah I was thinking to practice on the boneyard one first, is it one pedal assembly and the brake & gas pedals are another assembly or is it one whole assembly? I 'll guess I'll check out and compare the DA integras pedal just for general purpose.
So on Tuesday I got a manual pedal set-up from a 90 si for $40. It sucked getting the pedals out, but putting them in were not that bad. I didn't remove any vents or the dash. I used a deep 12 mm on a swivel all day. I did drop the steering colum, but not that bad. Now I'm thinking on doing a auto-to-manual conversion on an un-molested eg hatchback. Does anyone know how to mount the clutch resivior when doing a 92-95 manual conversion. And before anyone says "yeah, just buy a amnual, uh ha" The automatic hatches around here no one touches and go for cheap.
well you do have to drop the steering column but you most certainly do not have to take the dash out! that would be way to much work just to get the pedal assembly out. i just did my auto to manual swap on my crx and all i did was drop the steering column and take the driver seat out and i was golden...
I didn't take the drivers seat out, but like I said I did drop the colum. It is a must but not too bad. I acually did on some random street where the pedal broke. I was woring with the steering wheel/rack hanging out the drivers door and every and threir momma almost hit me. Oh yeah, my rex has a water leak that accumulates on the drivers floor so I smelt like a sweaty sock after I was done. Not to mention it gets cold around here before thanks giving.
But I did some searching and is it true that the markings & mounting for a 92-95 civic clutch master are on the fire wall. I'm dieing to try a auto-to-manual conversion.
And thanks for all the info from H-T!
