Default JDM Question

I have a 97 GSR and my friend has a JDM ITR header that is heat treated already and has both heat shields. He has 5000 miles on it and wants $275 which is a steal of a deal! (usually around $525. The problem is I don't know if it will fit my GSR. Anyone ever do this? Does it work? thanks. Oh and how much does it help, I know it doesn't add much power but is it noticeable?

it fits on the head but you'll need to get a muffler shop to add a 2.5 inch collector flange and you'll need a donut of the same size.

u will also need a 2.5 inch cat, donut gasket, flanges to go with the JDM header. while ur at it, u might as well get a 2.5 inch exhaust or have a muffler shop customize one for u.

p.s.
u might wanna get the header bracket for the lower portion of the header. the oem bracket underneath the car doesn't line up to the JDM's header. u can either leave as is, or get the additional header bracket for about 25-35 bucks.

good call, the header bracket is a good idea, keeps the flexing to a minimum.
