They are comming loose... My dad seems to think that someone is ******* with my car so that my wheel falls off and i die.. but i dont think so.. The nuts are the right size.. but they seem to keep comming losoe for no reason.. and one flew off when i was driving and i didnt notice.. soo they are comming way too loose for my liking.. any ideas on why this would be happening? I have the stock 94 GSR 5-spoke rims.. and the lugnuts dont look like the stock ones.. im not sure.. just wondering if anyone else has had this prob? thanx guys

 

hahaha that reminded me of the movie "Changing Lanes" where the front rim on Ben Afflecks CLK430 fly off when he's driving.. anyway either the lug nuts weren't torqued on correctly (80 ft-lbs), someones trying to jack your wheels on a few occasions or lug nuts are incorrect since you said they dont look stock..maybe somehow their not the right ones for the thread bolt/rim.... make sure their on tight.. and tighten w/ a torque wrench.. if it still happens I'd get new stock lugs... I doubt someone is coming back every nite to "try" to take your rims... you never know tho..

I think 110 ft/lb is way too much.

80 ft/lb is correct.

 

Does anyone know what size the stock lug nuts are? I know a 19mm socket fits them, but apparently that's not the measurement people go by... I went to go get some locking lug nuts at Advance Auto Parts the other day, but the only metric size they had was "12mm", which looked about the same size as stock but I wasn't sure. I assume the 12mm measurement is for the diameter of the hole in the lug nuts, is that right? Is 12mm the size I want?
