91 DX to SI motorswap question about dash harness
I know this has probably been covered, but if I can just get a quick yes/no to re-assure me it'd be appreciated.
I just picked up a 91 DX hatch shell today with hacked up harnesses (motor and under dash), and I have a 91 crx SI full swap with perfect engine harness on it. So can't I just throw in the interior SI dash and ECU harness to go with it and it'll work perfectly? I just wanna make sure before I send the money for this interior harness I just found.
I know I could search, but I'm sure I'll get an answer faster this way, sorry for being a noob to EF's.

The most commonly accepted and easiest practice is to modify your stock harness to fit the new engine. Search MPFI swap.
You probably need to find a clean DX or DPFI harness and mod it.

yes I know this. but my interior harnesses are F'ed also, and I don't have a DX harness. So I wanna use the SI engine harness that's already on it, and just change my interior harness to match it. I don't even know why I'm asking, its such a retarded question now that I think about it.

to do what you're talking about you would have to convert to complete si harness including the rear body wires...its been done before alot of people dont mind doing this. especially when they have hacked up garbage to work with anyway. so if you already have the si dash and engine harness all you need is the rear body harness but just realize it's alot of work.

If the old interior harness is hacked up, especially at the ECU plugs - **I** would replace it. I wouldn't spend more than $120 for a interior harness though
And that's from Rywire, so you can trust it.

well this is a project shell me and my brother picked up for $300, body is near perfect and interior is fine, just needed motor and wiring. So since we've already completely stripped the interior (carpet and all) replacing the harness shouldn't be too hard. It's not like we're in a rush haha.

Good luck with swapping in the new harness, it'd be hard to know what the previous owner did with the hack and slash on the harness.
