Glass restoration
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about fixing glass, er rather, making it look better. My integra has scratches in the windshield and at night it glares because of the light hitting the cracks. Plus my civic has overspray on one of the windows and it looks like **** when the sun shines through. Any ideas?

I used to know a detail person and he used steel wool and ammonia free glass cleaner. Then wiped it off with a microfiber towel.
Try that or I know that brake fluid or power steering fluid will take off some over spray. Be liberal with this stuff tho.

use fine steel wool.. thats what i use for overspray at my shop.. works perfectly.. about the wiper streaks i saw something on horsepower tv on spike last weekend about restoring glass.. takes a LOOOOOONG time to do though.. dont remember the name of the product though..
I don't remember the name of the product but I get it from my local auto body supply shop but its a glass polish and it does a real good job of removing scratches but you have to be careful with it.
I suggest asking a local supply shop and they will help you out.

In Florida your car insurance will replaced a damaged windshield for free, 1 per year I believe.
So, some how everytime I buy a new used car I seem to be behind a truck that drops a little rock and it chips the glass. I swear its not from the hammer I have wrapped in a towell in my garage.
Yes, steel wool works very very well!!!
At the dealership I work for we use a glass company the will come out and can buff some minor scratches out of the glass.

i remember watching this on "truck u" when he was restoring an old 50 something truck. it did sand it down and used a high speed buffer but there's a certain compound that you need to use in order for it to work. i'm not sure what it was but you could probably start looking there.
Yep, just go to home depot and get you some steel wool(fine) takes all the over spray off. For scratches you have to use some high grit sand paper. Then after your done.. buff it.
