yes its true but I wouldnt worry about it, my block has a crack in it from the bolt on the manifold bracket, its caused by the bolt expanding when it heats up. the crack is in the crankcase part of the block and it doesnt appear to go all the way through. If you want to be safe just remove the bracket.

Hmm... That's a strange problem, I've never heard nor seen that before.. But I have seen what happens when you don't install that bracket. You end up with a cracked exhaust manifold.
