Default 400+whp .. D-Series .. check in here!!

I thought I would start a thread for all the 400+whp d16 guys so we can all share our experiences and problems. "Put our heads together" as you will.

Here I'll start:

403whp, 310 ft. lbs.

Has anyone had a problem with their transmissions? Well what happened to mine was that i was doing a 4th gear pull. I got towards the end of 4th and it just stopped. I had no 4th gear at all. Every other gear worked fine. Never misshifted or anything. And also there was no warning of what was about to happen. It just happend within a instant.

Sounds like teh trans case flexed just enough to cause the gears to not mesh and well...

Nice That trans got torn up pretty good.

Here's a pretty beastly ZC (still technically a d16). He's going for 500whp:

Im here.

destroying trannys seem to my biggest problem too
im on tranny #8 i think, and have 3 spares in my garge.
alot of my prolems is my shifting style (gorilla style ) but the tranny is pretty weak too, not a godd combo.

here is my dyno before i switched to e85:

on e85 i made the same power, but i made 362 tq (still to lazy to scan the graph)

here is what i do to trannys:

i have another pics where i blew a chunk out of the back of the tranny, ill upload t when i get home.
edit: found it

im in the process of putting another motor together, and i have no doubts that i will make 440 again.
this time ill have a freshened up turbo and a fatter piston-wall clearence.
between that and boost cut, im hoping this motor lasts

Wow, I never realized D Series trannies were a problem. In fact Bisi always claimed the D Series trannies to be stronger.

with my last setup i wasn't even at 300 whp and broke 2 tranny's in a couple months. The next setup should be close to 400whp, but i'll need a better turbo and manifold to get there.

400 + here. no tranny problems yet. Only problem I have is being bored running pump gas and always wanting to run C16

Might be starting to experiance some headgasket issues, but who doesnt have that problem.

For the guys busting trannies like it's your job. Have you tried the Fastline shitfter.
check it out here . http://www.fastlineperformance.com/shifter.htm

It looks whack, but trust me it's not.

platinum.

it started out to be a good thing too.. ill get her fixed though.

i dont have a problem breaking shift forks, as you can see the gear just gave out.. i dont shift hard or miss shifts. never had a grind or slip out of gear ever.

anyone ever use any of these products on their D trannies?

Yeah, if you run all the internals that Bisi does. For the rest of the world, D series trannys suck. I feel sorry for the people that converted TO a D tranny!
