i have installed 91 crx doors on my 89 HF and i am wondering what the wires that come off the door mounted seatbelts go to. also are they needed to get the seatbelts to work properly? a wiring diagram would be excellent. i have a haynes manual but the seatbelt wiring diagram is not in there. please no guesses or i think answers.
thanks

yes its an hf so the door plugs dont match cause the only wires coming out of the 89 hf doors were the two speaker wires. so i would like to know what the seatbelt wires are supposed to hook up to. i just want to know for safety reasons. i want the seatbelts to lock up if i get into an accident. obviously the 89 hf is not wired to recieve the seatbelt wires so thats why i would like to know if they hook up to a switch or have power running to them.
ok, then the 91 door is not going to work on your 89 HF.
it simply wont fit because of door jam is not made to fit the extra thickness of the 91 door.
electrical issues will not even be your concern.
even if it did fit, then you can just remove all the seat belt stuff from the door and use the stock B pillar mounted seat belts. dont even worry whats on the 91 door, take it off completely.

tyson please read the the first sentence in my first post. I HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED THE 91 DOORS ON MY 89HF CRX AND YES I HAD TO TAKE A GRINDER TO THE DOOR TO GET IT TO WORK, THEN I JUST MADE A FIBERGLASS PATCH TO FILL THE HOLE, SANDED AND PAINTED IT AND MAGICALLY IT WORKED, ALSO I WANT TO USE THE DOOR MOUNTED SEATBELTS, I HAVE REMOVED THE PILLAR MOUNTED BELTS. IF AFTER DRIVING AROUND FOR A WHILE I DONT LIKE THE DOOR MOUNTED SEATBELTS THEN I WILL PUT MY 89 DOORS BACK ON AND PUT MY PILLAR MOUNTED SEATBELTS BACK ON, BUT FOR NOW I WANT TO MAKE SURE MY DOOR MOUNTED SEATBELTS ARE GOING TO WORK PROPERLY, THAT IS WHY MY QUESTION IS "DO THE WIRES RUNNING OFF THE DOOR MOUNTED SEATBELT NEED TO CONNECT TO ANYTHING TO MAKE THE SEATBELTS WORK PROPERLY?". NOW I HOPE U CAN COMPREHEND WHAT I AM SAYING BECAUSE I DONT KNOW HOW ELSE TO EXPLAIN IT. TYSON IF U STILL DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT MY QUESTION IS THEN PLEASE DONT POST ANYMORE ON MY TOPIC. NOW CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION?

you don't really need to do anything for wiring if your not concerned....

thank you, that makes me feel alot safer. but now im curious as to what the wiring is for and what does it hook up to. if anybody knows please inform me.
they are for the seat belt lights that are by the rear view mirror and the one in the guage cluster. Can't tell you how yours works but on mine (91 dx crx) i went from door belts to pillar belts and after everthing was unplugged the seat belt light stayed on.

i thought that the seat belt lights were controlled by the seat belt buckle, which have wires coming out of it that run under the seat to the dash.

can anybody answer the question regarding what controls the seat belt light? is it the buckle or the wires coming out of the seatbelt mechanism on the door?

I buckle controls the light. I dont know what the things in the door do.

you honestly like the seatbelts on the door better? i hate those. anywase since your so concerned about saftey isnt the door jamb stronger on the 91 cause the seatbelt was meant to be there probably more suport in it. i dont see why your so concerned about a few wires.
