Default JDM OBD1 H22a Startup problem...HELP!!!

I just recently installed a JDM OBD1 H22a into my 94 Honda Accord EX. After installing everything i proceeded to start the car, i went to start the car and the car started to turn but the car did not start......I changed the distributor cap (because the stock one was cracked) The USDM h22a distributor cap is external coil and the JDM h22a distributor cap is internal so therefore i had to try and find a another cap to fit, i went to my local NAPA Autoparts and the guy ended up giving me a GSR distributor cap and said that it would fit, so i went and put the cap on and two of the bolts lined up and the other didnt so i tried zip tieing the cap and it looked like it was tight enough. I then proceeded to start the engine and it turned but did not start. I checked the end of the wires for spark and i was getting spark but one looked kind of weak. Did some research and saw that a 90-91 Accord EX, 94 Civic SI and 2000 Civic SI caps fit. So tomarrow i am going to return the GSR cap and try out one of these caps and see if the engine starts. If not i am going to check the plugs and see if the engine is getting fuel which i believe that it is getting fuel. Does anyone have any ideas on what it is or has anyone had this problem before and what did you do to fix it?

well the problem for some is the igniter inside ur distributer since it mihgt b old and sitting for a while. it may spark it the igniter is bad BUT it will random spark instead of a pattern. heh. but yeah new cap would help a **** load.

its called an Igniter unit (#7), and i believe it is the 90-93 Accord but to be sure, take off the cap and rotor and unscrew the coil (little box w/spring) take it to honda and ask them to match it up for you, once you purchase it you cannot take it back. its number 7 i believe.

http://www.hondaautomotivepart...EC%29

so match it...might wanna get cap and rotor while you're there, just a thought.
cap is from 90-93 Accord (cuz it has an internal coil.) i think the coil is the same but like i said take it in a match to be sure.

Cheers

i have a feeling it's your main relay. replace the cap then if it still doesn't work check the main fuel relay.

also did you convert to internal coil correctly?

i paid like....200$ canadian....maybe it was 110$ CDN....somewhere's around there. to the spark plug test, if no spark, check battery, then distributor...

i think its the igniter, cuz that's what i had to do.

did you ever take the dizzy completely off? or did you just unscrewed the cap and rotors? i'm assuming you might've prolly taken the dizzy off to do this. IDK about internal coiled dizzy but on external coiled dizzy, you'll have to make sure the dizzy is line up correctly and within sequence along with the external coil being grounded properly. if not within seq and not lineup correctly there will be fuel but no spark, i learned this lesson when i took off my dizzy by accident thinking it was the cap and rotor, turned out everything was fine and the dizzy was put back on in some random way. GL getting the H to start.

I'm pretty sure you can find the wiring diagrams on-line. As for the power steering line I had that done today on my H22 in my 92 Accord. I kept the Accord p/s line and cut and welded the end of the prelude line to the Accord line. Put the belt on and some fluid and now I have p/s! I drove my car around for a year with a pair of vice grips under the hood blocking the Accord p/s line because it didn't fit the Prelude pump.
