Octane question !

Default Octane question !

I always run shell 93 octane in the si but sometime's if i am at half and i want to fill up and i am not near a shell station i use 91 octane sunoco is it good to mix 91 with 93 or it dosent make a difference please i would like to know !

i mix 93 and 94. if i can get to a sunoco i use 94 but if i have to I'll settle for some 93 and a shell or bp eveny now and then.

I would just run straight up 91... mixing / matching octanes isnt going to achive any gains/differences

I LOVE my BP 93. Runs flawless and I get about 35 more miles extra to a tank of gas compared to others ive used

I just put 93 in, They say it requires 91 or higher so you should be fine. Dont put 87 in

Wow where can i get some 93 all we have here is 91.

I get my 93 octane at SHELL gas statons its called v-power and is supposed to be 1 of the best gas stations there is i am suprised you havent seen it out there.

Shell V-Power is 91 in many locations. 91 is the highest octane available in my area, except for race gas @ $5.99/gal.

For the best performance you want to run the lowest octane you can that wont cause knock. More octane doesnt equal more power. The bad thing with fuel out west is it's oxygenated and that reduces power.

Mixing won't cause any problems. I wish we still had higher octane here. All we have at every gas station is 87, 89, and 91. And of course 100+ octane at special stations but it's too expensive for everyday use.
