The quality of that turbo unit (and that "kit") is ridiculously low. Its practically made out of JB Weld, and the kit doesnt really come with anything.

Yeah,
I've heard this too in regards to Ebay style turbo kits. Low quality parts for a turbo?= No good
In my experience as with anything when you really try to cut corners you end up losing (ie: performance/look isn't what you want, need to replace parts or even the whole thing)

Best to do a search and make the decision for yourself. There are many many many threads on this topic already. More than enough for you to figure out which way you'll go with your $$

Search SSAC, ebay turbos, there are hundreds of threads on here.
Basically you get what you pay for, i would reccomed paying the extra and doing it right the 1st time.

I have heard that ssac is **** as far as the kits go.
However... there was a thread a while back where several people were happy with their ssac turbos. From what I have read, the main problem with the kits is that they don't come with an oil restristor which makes the seals on the turbo blow. And the manifolds are absloute **** and crack within a month(s)

If your going to buy the kit and have to replace the turbo and manifold, why not just buy a good one in the 1st place...

I have an XS t3/t4 57trim . I have never had any problems with it at all. 15,000 plus mile of abuse. I am going to get another one. But I do agree with everyone else on here you do get what you pay for. I didnt exspect big things but I have only lost one race out of like 20 plus. So they have my vote!!!
One more thing the manifolds suck donkey *****

I wasn't saying get a kit, i was saying that i have heard SOME good things about the turbos when they are set up right. The main reason they blow is because they need 7-10psi of oil pressure and Honda's have 40+psi of pressure so you need a proper restrictor.

For the most part SSAC makes sub par products in terms of quality, however a few people I know in the MR2 community are quite satisfied with their SSAC downpipes and side mount intercoolers, but the manifolds are sketchy. Perhaps SSAC is evolving into what BLOX and Megan have become, which doesnt say much, and probably isnt the case.

No i wasnt saying anything towards you, i know what you mean, i was just saying if your going to replace the turbo and manifold then i would just get a good one in the 1st place. Ive also herd some good things too, but deff not as many as the bad things.
