Default Engine heads...please read...

I picked up an engine head from a 93 5spd and I was thinking of swapping it after I do some work to it on my 94 automatic...I am pretty sure that they are the exact same head...the engine didn't change from those years...

Anyone else...need to know before I start to work on the head...

they are both from an ls...

You pretty much wasted your money. Since you have a spare head you might as well port and polish it to see gains.

How did I waste my money? I never asked that. I asked if the engine head was the same...if it's about the auto tranny thats your opinion...I'm sorry you don't like my car...sucks to be you. I like the car and it has been good to me...nothing but compliments, even from the v8 croud...I am going to do port and polishing(myself), plane the head, 3 angle valve job, cam gears and a cam...to make my car better...the way I want it.

I am sick of the crap as# tranny comments...I'll drive my car you drive yours!

There is always a faster car! Always...nothing personal

I'm very skeptical of amateur P&P on Honda heads. You may end up losing a fair amount of power.

I am an amateur at this but I have 3 fully trained mechanical friends that have been ripping apart engines and rebuilding them for lonnger than I have been alive. They threatened me to bodily harm if I paid someone to port the head. They have been doing it to 8's, 6's and even 4bangers for years....They will be looking over my shoulder the whole time...otherwise I would have paid a shop to do it...get my drift...It feels like all I have been doing lately is reading(researching) on porting and polishing...you should see my notebook!

after reading the dumb responses people have been giving you -i will finally answer the question you asked in the first place. yes , the heads are the same-from 90 to 2000 they are all the same for the ls motor. after porting your head get a high lift cam to take full potential of your work. and remember-the polishing is just as important as the porting. this increases the velocity of the air as porting increased the amount of the air. ----as far as your tranny goes, your right and should drive what you want , but after doing these mods to your car you are losing out on a tremendous amout of torque.-just something to keep in mind.

Thanks for the response...yah I know the tranny will be robbing alot of power. I have come to terms with that...I am hoping up the car for myself...the car is sweet though and pretty quick...I am getting a torque convertor in the next couple of months...that will help bring back some power from the tranny...I have done a bit or research on this...The head is a go for sure now...I will hopefully be dynoing my car...I'll post the results...and then do it again with the new head and then with the torque convertor, and then again when I get nos!
then the car will talk for itself!

just so you know...I drive an automatic if you have checked my username out so the vtec head is out of the question...do your homework!
And the head job is for fun! It will be a true learning experience!

Be careful porting that head by yourself...Im not flaming, so dont take it that way, but Honda heads are extremely well designed from the factory. One small wrong move, and the heads garbage. These are not Chevy/Ford/whatever V8 heads that are in serious need of porting...as a matter of fact, the polishing on your head is gonna be more important than the porting, as you will not have to do much of it (the porting). This is just my .02, just wanna give you a heads-up (no pun intended) before you go do the head. I dont wanna see you waste time and money. Good luck with the build up.

ok first you must take out the face modulater to the retake valve crossing the inter make wires on the boost gauge
second switch the b16 to a b12 around the head gaskets remove the coolant lines from your other member with the vibrating switch on the 3rd stage of your turbo
