Is the 2005 RSX type S drive by wire
I thinking about picking a 05 up instead of older for the K20Z in them. The only thing stopping me is if they are drive by wire my moms odyssey has it and I prefer the feel or a traditional cable.
The cable, obviously has a cable contolling the throttle, whereas on "by wire" its done through the ecu etc, hence "wire".
I drove the new Si and the drive by wire is not bad on accelation at least until it wears out. but when you decel is feels really weird even when you shift because if controls the closure of the throttle body so there is less wear on your tranny and mounts. smart idea but it needs alot of work at the same time
i believe all the rsx typs s's are all cable throttle
i for one will never by a car is that is drive by wire. all the drive by wire cars that i have driven (lancer rally art, new infinity suv and a few others) that all just had horrable throttle response.

same here, drive by wire sucks. drove the new civic with k20z and shifting demotes you to an ***, always overrevving. best option for me is power shifting instead.
why do you want the k20z rather than the a? parts are still afew as compared to the k20a.

The Z makes more power.
People better get used to drive by wire, all cars will be like that some day.

you can't really tell until you do a left foot braking or heel toe, some DBW will cut down the throttle when the brake is apply, that's what really blows.

My old 02 GTI did this alot. It was VERY noticable. I guess I just got used to it.

This is my first car that has a DBW system, and I notice a considerable difference. Especially a slight rev hang when getting out of the gas and disengaging the clutch.

Incorrect
why would it be better to get a motor w/o DBW? I guess the M3 and Vette's suck huh?

yeah i have also heard that the newer s2000's there are dbw has no differance in throttle respose
but i do believe most of the dby cars do have horriable throttle response.

Actually most cars that are DBW are higher end cars and don't have "horriable" throttle response.

That is just the thing, I drive a Mustang
.
It takes a little getting used to, coming from the classic throttle cable system, but it's growing on me.

If properly 'tuned', DBW can be ok. But on most cars they tie so much safety crap into it that something gets lost in the translation. And yes, it is never going to feel exactly like a throttle cable.
S2K added DWB due to VSS being implemented.

To The Tech-1, the reason I say this is because it is just one more thing to have break, and I remember that on the rsx hondata could not do k pro because of DBW. This is now not true, but if you have DBW you have to get a adapter harness and a modified 02-04 ecu so with having a decision on which motor to choose the 02-04 model would be preferable. And you told Miracle that o5's are not drive by wire, but I thought the last changes to the rsx were made in 05 and that the 05 and 06 have identical motors. I may be wrong but want proof.
