Default question on alarm sirens

I was wondering if I changed to a different siren, if the sounds my alarm made when armed/disarmed/triggered would be different. The thing is that I don't care for the sounds it currently makes when arming and disarming. I was wondering if I could just replace the siren or if I'd have to replace the entire alarm to get a different sound... It's not worth me replacing the entire system, but I'd be willing to swap the siren if it would change the tones.

we replaced a broken siren on my friends alarm (i think it was an Ungo) w/ a DEI alarm siren and it worked.. it had the DEI sounds (which every1 has) instead of the ungo's chirp sounds..

sweet... so I can get the new sound by swapping the siren unit.

My next question is what brands sound do you all prefer? I want something that has a quiet sounding chirp when arming and disarming and would prefer 1 beep for armed and 2 beeps for disarmed.

hmm I have a Clifford but If I remember correctly from your previous posts.. thats what you have and you dont like it (wanna send me ur clifford siren so i can put it in my hatch where the subs are? haha)... anyway I usually silent arm and disarm my car or let it autoarm itself.. so I dont really care what my siren sounds lke.. can't u program it for quiet chirp? you can also program it for long term chirp silencing or just use channel 3 to silent arm... then u wont hear the chirps..

Alpine siren has a quiet chirp (Listen to some of the BMWs that have the factory alarm) Beeps for alarm arming is controlled by the alarm itself, not the siren.

DEI's soft chirp siren (514N I think) gives you the ability to have soft or loud chirps. The number of chirps is determined by your alarm since the siren goes off a 12V signal. Two chirps on disarm would require two pulses from your alarm brain. The newer Aviatal stuff is rebadged DEI (ie., Viper, Python) so you may already have one and not know it.
