Default New project car: 91 Civic Si

I just bought her last week. So far it gets about 26mpg around town. The first order of business will be a paintjob. It's going back red but I'm still trying to decide exactly which red to use. If you guys have any suggestions on the color feel free to let me know. I was thinking Milano Red or the stock color so far. I'll be swapping the suspension and exhaust over from my DX this week. After that it's off to get painted. The rest will happen later.

Current Setup

JDM ZC front bumper and fenders
D16Y7 w/Si tranny
Ghetto turbo setup using an Audi turbo
Rear disc conversion w/ stainless lines all the way around
Momo tuner wheel w/ quick release
KYB struts and Skunk2 sleeves
15" speedmasters
Battery relocated to the back

Things to do (pretty much in order)

Swap over KSport coilovers and rear control arms from DX
Take the RSR exhaust from the DX
SiR front end and new side moldings
Paintjob
New clutch and flywheel (needs it)
Peel off the crappy purple tint that's on one side and re-tint both sides
Vtec head
Trash the current turbo setup and get a new one

I also plan on doing little things like replacing the shift ****, new pedals, corner lights, and a few other things that aren't too important. I can't decide if I want to keep these wheels or not, I guess I'll decide after it's painted.

Here are the pics

You asked for it

It pumped out just over 125 torque on a DynoDynamics dyno

-Is that a ZC front end?
-Why are you putting down the turbo kit so much? Looks like a clean setup, no?

orangeracer: If you ask me I say timing should be adjusted, you should use new injectors, and you should get it tuned.....that's not the case with the current setup on this car but I bought it like it is

Tippyman: Yes, there's an FMU in there somewhere

thenick: I'm not sure if it's a ZC front end or not. I personally don't like the front bumper that's on it or the way it was cut out for the intercooler so I will be getting an SiR front bumper. The turbo setup is what it is. I would not turbo a car this way. I will end up changing most of the turbo setup and tuning the car.

It looks like my things to do list was a little out of order.....I just bought a vtec head

Looks like a solid project..looks like its in way better shape then mine...i had a homemade turbo kit on my car too...wasnt that bad i didnt get it tuned but i ran DSM 440 cc injectors with an Apex-i VAFC to hack into the honda wiring for it all to work. Car was a lot of fun to drive. I do believe that is a ZC bumper. Wish i had the money to put a JDM frontend on my ED

EDIT: if you want to get rid of those rims lmk ill take them off your hands

civic89si666: Thanks, the car is definately fun to drive. I'll let you know if I decide to sell the rims.

1990si: The car has some torque down low but the tiny turbo dies off up top. It's only running 5psi so you can't expect much. On a positive note I see instant boost when I give it gas I think my slightly modded 99 Si would outrun this car right now though.

civicjdmb16a: Thanks man. Like I said, the turbo kit is nothing to brag about but it is fun. Before it's all over the car will end up with a new turbo, manifold/downpipe, fuel setup, and engine management. Then I'll worry more about the numbers.

I'm going to pick up a vtec head this weekend. The guy said he doesn't know exactly what motor it's from. Here are the codes he gave me from the head P08-4 9/3 /5 1/8 9/0 I'm guessing it's from a D16Z6. I'm new to the whole d series thing though, so if you guys can help me out then I sure would appreciate it.
