i have a 90 crx si.
and if i ever find the money i want to get a sir carbon hood.
but for some reason you cant put in on your car unless you
have the sir fenders and bumper... why is that? are the
fenders different?

NO only different head lights but there is a different Rad. support. Plus, the JDM SiR headlights dont match up with the USDM front bumper.

 

well can i keep my fenders? and just swap the bumper head lights and hood?

I'm pretty sure you need the headlights, fenders, and radiator support
to use the SiR hood. Basically a front clip.

 

Check out http://www.hondamotorsonline.com They have the whole conversion for around $650.

 

I think the sir front is longer also? You need the fender, headlights, bumper, rad support, just be ghetto and get that sir hood that fits usdm front ends from VIS or Fiber Images.

 

all you need is the headlights hood bumper and bumper filler. The usdm rad support with work with the jdm hood and the same with the fenders

 

I might well ask this question. Okay, if you will just change USDM bumper to JDM is it a direct bolt on?

I found a pic of a 4g with JDM bumper but with USDM hood, headlight, and bumper filler. Hope this pic works.

But how come fiber images sells there cf hoods and say they fit both usdm and jdm I would think that if that was the case then jdm sir hood would work on stock usdm car. nae sorry.

They sell two different hoods from what I understand. One will fit the US front end and one for the JDM front end.

 

Yep, one is CF JDM SiR style and the other is the CF JDM SiR hood.

 

You cannot mix and match.
The only things that fit right are the US fenders with the JDM hood.
Otherwise, nothing else lines up.
You cannot use a JDM hood with US headlights without having a 1" gap on each side towards the center of the hood.
You cannot use the JDM hood on a US bumper, since the JDM hood is longer than the US

You can buy a JDM Style hood that will work with the US bumper and lights.
By JDM Style I mean that the hood goes up on the center part rather than down
as in the US hood
I tried every possibility, and ended up getting the whole JDM front end convertion
for my CRX

 

The true SiR hood is about 3" longer than the stock USDM hoods. The ZC hoods fit fine though/ In order to use the SiR hood, you would need either an entire front clip or have to do some serious modifications to it. But why bother? The only differene with the SiR hood is that the middle section comes out instead of slightly sinking in like the USDM hoods do. The ZC is a better option, IMHO.

you'll have to change your whole front cap is it really worth you spending major $$ to have the cool looking jdm cf hood? if so then all power to ya.

 

SiR front is 3 inches longer than the USDM CRX's. The USDM CRX's follow the Guidelines of a JDM CRX Si or ZC CRX or EF7 or wahtever you want to call it.
Besides being that the front is 3 inches longer, the headlights are different. I have an SiR hood made to fit USDM CRX's. My EF7 hood didnt clear the car... Look close at my avatar.

i want a sir front bumper! and fenders and hood, and then i woudl have to swap out the hood to get CF. but my ******* door is dented, and now i kinda want a WW kit. but i like the clean look of JDM. damn it hehe.
so i guess i will go with WW and a SIR style hood. or maybe a zc CF hood.

BTW, whats a good front besides WW that maybe goes a inch lower...
and is there any JDM body kits besides mugen for crx's. such as bomex, something better the WW?
