Thought I'd share this story in the A/C forum, since there's not much tech to it. I just finished this car for a customer a week or so ago. The owner originally took the car to someone else to get an F/I job done. They half assed it to say the least. They pulled his orig. B16 out (why,I don't know, it ran fine) and installed another one from HMO with an added JRSC. Well, there were some issues. As I was told, the belt jumped off on the 2nd day and the orig. installer would never fix it, there were CELs (with multiple codes), the brakes were gone, clutch was gone and the A/C didn't work.
Long story short, the car ended up with me to fix the issues. Instead of going behind the other person and trying to figure out what they did or didn't do, I pulled it all in favor of a turbo setup. Enough babbling, on with the pics...
How it arrived...

Started pulling it apart, found this bracket, thould have been attached to another bracket above the alt., but it was just laying against the subframe...

The unit itself was still in great shape...

And the new parts begin goin on...

turbo setup (sitting on another motor I ws doing for someone else)

all on...

SETUPS...
BEFORE:
JRSC (I'm assuming the stock pulley) and JRSC FMU
AFTER:
AEBS intake mani.
Precision 440s
Precision FMIC
Tial WG
Blox mani (sidenote: had to shave both the VC and the WG...they touched initially)
Oil kit-will be added to my online store soon (plate/feed/drain lines)
Phereable ECU
RyWire OBDII to OBDI conversion harness
ACT clutch
alot of new sensors and fluids

He should have it on the dyno very soon. I'll video it thenI barely drove it while I had it. (hardly any gas and it had a dead battery so I had to jump it off EVERY time I had to check anything...kind of a PITA).
The car does run flawlessly now

OBD1 using Crome and Precision 440s. There are stock injectors in the side by side pic because I pulled the JRSC and installed the AEBS to get the car running N/A and fixed all the problems before installing the turbo kit. I then installed the 440s.
lol, the zipties, had to do something (see pic below) the car was wrecked on the RF so the rad sat cocked when it arrived and had no bracket on it to start. As I got around to fitting the DP I had to **** it some more and move it a little, but the whole headlight is moved back so that corner just doesnt't mesh well...

but hey, the zip ties hold strong
Thanks for all the

nice man,
it's good to see someone with a head on his shoulders workin on a car.
That looked like a butcher job to me.
How do you mess up brake lines, clutch, and AC to install a simple jrsc?!??!
AND pulling a working motor to replace it with another of the same type.
I know the jrsc sits snug back there, but damn..

Actually it is...at a great price too. Everypart that was pulled off was boxed so it should be the complete kit unless there was something not put on originally.

Thanks, it was quite the hack job actually.
I don't know what was done to his lines, his reservoir was bone dry so I filled it and bled the calipers off and everything has been good since. The clutch was just worn the expletive out...which I don't know why they even put it back in with the new motor. A/C...he said it worked before they had the car and hadn't worked since. I just removed it.
I still don't know why they pulled a perfectly working motor...I guess the worst part is the fact that they kept his old motor
...I want to say it had about 85k on it.
