Default B18B1 Block & B16A Head... Few Questions??

I have a B18B1 block which is OBD2. I also have a B16A head that is OBD0. When I go to look for the right wiring harness which one should I buy? In the end is it possible for the car to be running OBD1? Which ARP head studs should I buy? Thanks

what ar is it going into? we can help a little better if you let us know that. otherwise it would be so much easier to just change out some of the sensors to obdII if u want to just use the same wire harness.just convert. u will be happier in the end. if u want to do it kinda half *** then just cut the wires and change the plugs =P

The intake manifold is going to either be skunk 2 or edelbrock. The car is a 95 EG bone stock now. Im hopig to run a P28. Unsure about the conversion harness right now. I am really trying to make this a clean swap and not do anything half assed.

its going to take some work when u buy parts will all different wiring. but i believe u can just buy a b16 wire harness because it will have the vtec plug. if u choose to go obdI then u can get it off a del sol Si but if u wanna go obdII then get it off a 99-00 Civic Si. or i believe u can use a JDM EG SiR harness cuz didnt they come with b16's? anywho ya i think the hardest thing would be ur wiring. good luck tho

I agree with the Del Sol Harness for sure, but be sure that you change the necessary sensors, and have the right distributor...Good Luck

you can not just buy a harness from another car and expect it to work you need to have someone modify your stock harness and add in v-tec and it will also need some wires run to the ecu and you can use the p28 ecu that would work fine i might have someone to do your harness let me know if you want and ill look in to it for you

ps and yes you use the gsr head studs on any ls or b20 v-tec

Why do I need to have someone add in "v-tec" because the stock motor is already vtec... single cam though.

then all the better use your stock computer have it rechiped for the new motor and use your stock harness and you will need a obd1 distributor and injectors and you will be fine

vouch.

you want the bolts to be long enough to go all the way into the block through the taller vtec head, into the taller b18 block. the b16 bolts will screw down into threads, but dont screw in far enough for anyone building an engine to sleep well at night.

The different between a LS head and a Vtec (b16 or b18c) head is the two middle bolt. LS are shorter and Vtec is longer. The other 8 bolt are the same if you are using arp head stud.
