alternator question??

alternator question??
Ok im getting an IACV code (code 14) and everything about the iacv looks ok, so i decided to check the alternator and saw that one of the plugs is off
on my alt. harness there is the green plug, the power lead that is screwed on then one that has a boot over it that looks like a ground plug
that ground plug is the one that is off, but my manual and searches dont show me where it goes
where does it go? never seen it before but it has a boot over it so it must be important
