Default Gas mileage issue???

I have a '02 Type S with 100,000 miles and as time goes on my gas mileage seems to be going down alot. Right now I am getting 15 miles to the gallon. I don't shift over 3000 r.p.m.'s so it's not like I am racing it. I have changed the air filter and the spark plugs. The sparks plugs were burning white and were pretty fouled up. I was told that it could be the fuel filter but then when i took it to a mechanic shop they said they even called the Acura dealership and were told that those cars don't have fuel filters. That doesn't make sense to me and also I have been told that fuel filter is located with the pump inside the tank. Any suggestions what could be causing this terrible mileage? Before I used to get awesome gas mileage compared to now.

Thanks for your help,
Adrian

A car without a fuel filter? Coming from an Acura dealership? Wow... simply wow.

But anyways, YES, you car does have a fuel filter. You seem like you need a very good tune up... fuel filter, PCV valve, new plugs(if you haven't already replaced them) and a cleaning of the O2 sensors would not hurt either.

Ok I will give that all that a shot. Only this is this car don't have plugs, it has coils and they are like 60 dollars a piece. I miss the good old hatchback. so much easier to work on. Thanks. Anybody have any other suggestions.

You do have sparkplugs... just don't have plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, or ONE single coil. You have 4 coils... like you said.

With that few miles on the car, I would not suspect any coil issues... are you getting any CEL's?

Check tire pressure would be the first thing I'd do. The fuel filter is located inside the tank with the pump I'd be worried about taking my car to that dealership if they didn't know that.

hmmm there is definetly some issues. Sounds like its running very rich and comsuming alot of fuel. 15mpg? that is really bad for n/a easy driving. People with boosted motors get better. Hope u figure it out
