WELL MY FIREND JUST GOT HIS SWAP INTO HIS crx
ITS A USDM B18C OBD1
well we were checking the codes, 21 and 43 came up
we alrdy know what 43 is o2 sensor cuz his exhaust doesnt have one it got cut
and 23 is the knock sensor, we drove it around and the rev limiter is bouncing at 7 grand were using a boomslang jumper harness to the obd1 p72
1)so is the knock sensor causing the rev limit to be low?
2)do knock sensors go bad easily?
3)how much is a new one?
4)car runs smooth maybe it had any pre-existing damage?

It could be the knock sensor, or more then likly it is the wiring from the knock sensor to the ecu. You said you are using the boomslang ecu adapter but what kind of jumper harness are you using for the v-tec solonoid, oil pressure switch and knock sensor? There is a way to check the switch with a meter but I cant remember the spec. Your v-tec will not engadge if the knock sensor is not working right. That is why it ounly revs to 7k and not 8200.

well chris he is still able to hit v-tec, i manually wired those 3 wires to the ECU, i see that ur online can u get back to me cuz i jus came home from my friends house, and guess what he didnt wire up the knock sensor......
vtec solonoid, oil pressure switch

Hey man, if you dont have a wire in the ecu for that port you need to get a pin with wire from somewhere and install it in the ecu, then solder a wire to that and run it to the knock sensor. Another option, which I dont recomend is to have the ecu chiped not look for the knock sensor and run vtec. I dont recomend this because the knock sensor is a safty feature, if your motor knocks the computer retards the timing to avoid damage to the motor.
Also to remove a pin from an ecu plug you need a pin tool or a paperclip works good as well.
Thats strange that v-tec still works without the knock sensor. I was told that it wont function without it.
