Default 93 Accord auto trans shift/convertor ? problem

transmission "stutters"{stumbles} at cruise speeds..seems to slip in and out of O/D . RPM changes about 200 to 300 rpm at cruise... sometimes will stutter under slow/light acceleration.. if you accelerate hard, transmission shifts firmly with no stutter. car has about 125000 miles on it . engine runs well ,no missing or stumbling. any ideas? vacuum prob? electrical? Thanks Rudy

Sounds like a torque convertor problem, go to a tranny house and they should go for a free ride with you to troubleshoot on a road test. Can you turn OD off and try it again.

they do go in and out of lock up, that is normal; as far as the stumble under acceleration clean the EGR ports.
To test for blocked EGR ports; put the car in drive[engine at operating temp], hold the brake down and run the RPM up to around 1700. If you feel the stumble it's the EGR ports.
