Using EK suspension on an EG
I know the front EK suspension will bolt right up to an EG, but what about the rears? Can I use an EK LCA bushing or something on the EG LCA to make the EK stuff work properly?
I found a good deal on some EK stuff, so that's why I'm wondering.

you sure do get some wacky questions man....
I have heard of people using EG suspensions on EK's, since the EK has smaller/thinner LCA's.
try contacting Energy Suspension / Prothane maybe they can get you a poly bushing the right size to fit your EG LCA and a metal sleeve that will fit the shocks properly?

the fronts from thr ek will fit the egs no problem but its the rear that doesnt. all you have to do is sand down the rear bushing to accept the smaller rear fork of the ek. use a die grinder and it should take about 5-10 minutes to grind down each side.
i had to do that to fit ek stuff on my ef. (ef and eg have the same rears)

you'd have to modify the rear forks on the shocks to work w/ the eg lca. People do wierd things on this board *scratches head*
Believe me--I *know* what I am doing and I have a purpose in mind. Go flame some riceboy or something. So can I just modify the bushing on the EG LCA to accept the EK stuff? Is there any difference in shock length or anything because that's my main concern.

I used some Koni Full coil-overs for an EK on my EG and here's what you have to do:
If using stock 1992-1995 lower control arms, you will need to trim the bushing where the strut bolts to the LCA.
The EK stryts have more narrow forks at the bottom of the struts, therefore this is why you must trim down the EG LCA.
ALSO:
If you guys don't know the answer to a question, why even post bullcrap about it?
I had a specific reason for using EK sus on my car just as Todd00 probably does too.
Would you pass up $1,300.00 Koni full coil-overs for only $300 just because they were for an EK?
If you did, then you are a moron.

i've checked the part #'s for Koni coilovers for 92-95 civic and 96-00 civic, they the same part#.i was wondering why the Koni does not tell you that you would need to shave the bushings a little?
when i had my eg i used apexi n1s for an ek on it, i did this because i got a 3 month old set from a friend for 700 bucks. all i did was trim the rear bushings just like everyone else said. they worked great and i never had any problems

because changing the LCA is against SCCA rules for this particular car.

sometime, SCCA get some stupid rule
whats the different between the itr and EG LCA? its same length, same distance between bolt, but just a little bit difference in design and material.

Lower classes = less mods = less money, which is fine with me at this stage in my life.
well, of course, rule is rule, but i dont think the LCA is a big deal on the fair issue. its not like changing the whole car suspension geometry (eg,changing the way the suspesion be placed or something like that). on top of that, the class distribution of SCCA is kind of suck, how the hell scca put a car compete in the same class with other have more than 1000cc in displacement.(let say in T1 or T2).
the front forks on a 99-00 si are wider then then everyother ek. So maybe you can get those forks and not have to shave your front lca.
The rear lcas wont fit at all, they are longer then the eg lcas. But i dont know about the shock mounting on an ek versus an eg.

I dun suppose anyone has a pic of a shaved of the LCA?
i have the same opportunity wif sum EK goods and i was thinking whether this was worth the trouble?

how about integra rear and front lca's?... i have a set of front and rear lca's with poly bushings for an integra and a set of apexi 99 spec coilovers for an ek. can i use these for an ek? eg? or an ef?..
I know i got a set of brakes off an ek. I just bent the back forks a little to make it work. And ride like a beauty after i got my aligment yesterday..
