Default Resetting ECU for better gas mileage?

I drive a 99 DC4. For the past week it seems like my gas mileage just begun to really suck for some reason. I was getting around 200 on a full tank before not it seems with some rough estimation im getting about 120-ish. it didnt start until when my girlfriend put in gas like a week ago. maybe its just bad gas? cheap gas? i typically run lukoil/sunocoA+ 87 regular, not sure what or where she got hers. But a couple of weeks like maybe even a month ago or so i put in a JDM ITR header and carsound cat. I read on T-I that resetting the ecu can help set a new program on running with the new modifications to help it run to the best of its ability with the mods. I also got my car aligned at some shop. about a week ago too so i ahvent a clue whats giving me such bad mileage. im thikning the alignment is off more or has something to do with the gas my gf got.

Thats some pisspoor gas mileage. Its likely just the temp changes and such, give it another tank before you stress about it.

If your getting less than 250 a tank, then somethings wrong. Does the car run strong and pull like normal? You might need a tune up, or possibly you have a loose plug wire or something. Definitely have someone who knows what their doing have a look at your car.

For comparison, I have a 300,600 mile engine, B18A1, with I, H, and exhaust that gets 340 miles to the tank. I used to deliver pizza, mix of city and hwy, and kept track of my mileage. I usually average 30-32 miles to the gallon with mixed driving. All hwy, I get between 38-40. You never know, you might have jumped a tooth on your cam gear, have it looked at.

my car pulls fine and strong. i mean it does seem a lil sluggish on the low end in comparison to my sisters 02 scion tc. probably just build up on the throttle body and the pivot point that conects to the throttle line and throttle body. i may run the 3 step gumout soon.
i also drive an automatic. forgot that may be a factor. i typically get around 200-250ish.

im lucky to get 225 all city. although, i think my tires might be the reason. (im not sure of the size but i havent lowered the car and i still rub a lot) so whats the reason for this sucky gas mileage??

For one, stop saying miles per tank.....people fill up at different points and different amts of fuel. Figure out mpg. The difference in a 9 gallon fill up and a 13 gallon fill up is HUGE. Next, build up in the throttle body and cable wont effect your gas mileage. Maybe clogged/dirty injectors that dont have a good spray pattern on them, but even that is somewhat unlikely.

Tank size is 13 and some odd gallons in the DC. Oddly enough my gas light came on when it was about 10 gallons low when I in the city and about 13 gallons low when I was on the highway....craziness I tell ya.

im estimating on the full tank. I use to get about 50 miles per quarter tank(according to the gauge, not actual measuring of the tank). im about 110 now from full to one line left on the tank gauge. i dont ahve much else to work on in terms of mpg. but anys not helping with my gas gussling consumption. regardless of the exact numbers. im getting signicifcantly less miles per gallon/tank than usual. and my throttle cable etc was just in refernce to the way the pedal feels not a possibility of the reason why im getting crappy mileage. i think its just probably time for a major tune-up...found out tis going to cost 180$ to get a valve adjustment at the dealership . and working on the waterpump and timing belt.

Fill up, set the trip meter to zero.....drive around, fill up again, read the mileage. Mileage/gallons = mpg. Wow.....and then we arent guessing on well I use to get this on a 1/4 tank and now I get this on 3/4 tank. Could be a bad sending unit, could be the fact that the gauge goes down faster past the 1/2 mark. Stop dealing with "could"s and figure out if you indeed are getting **** poor gas mileage. I mean, off your figures, you're getting like 12mpg which could be a leaking injector.
