Default a baller on a budget.. advice on painting

i found some mean spoke hubcaps i want, and i would like to paint them flat black. i would i go on doing this? i know black paint, but how would i keep the paint on for a long time?

man please rock steelies before the hubcaps
but if your set on hub caps just do a couple coats of clear and be sure to let the paint cure properly

Isn't that an oxymoron?

Iv read and reread the OP and still do not understand his question. I am going to assume you want to paint some hubcaps, so just paint them. If you really want to be "blanging" you can sand them with 600grit(wet) before painting and buy some duplicolor clear coat to apply after the paint.

PLEASE don't put on any hubcaps other than OEM. some idiot in front of me was rocking some wal-mart cheezoids and hit a bump, sending his driver-rear hubcap across traffic and the retaining ring hit my front bumper. they're ugly and a road hazard, save up for rims.
