just have to get another one from dealer or from another head.

dont tighten those too much. they break easily if tightened too much.

Don't worry, I've snapped three valve cover studs on my B16. For D-Series motors, just use an easy-out to get the threads out of the block and just go buy a new bolt from honda.

small left hand (reverse) drillbit may get it out.

if not, then try an Easy Out reverse screwdriver thingie-majiggie.

as long as the cover is not leaking oil then you are fine, of course you can drive the car, just get a new one

I broke the front one once. I thought it would be okay, but it leaked oil badly. So I went to the dealer and got the replacement bolt.

just watch your oil. the more you rev the more pressure youll make to spew all over your valve cover and under side of hood.
tighter is not always better.

Yep... just did this on sunday after I adjusted my valves. Broke one of the long ones on the top left corner on my D16Z6. I actually left the broken stud with the little rubber grommet IN the hole, so that the motor wouldn't spit oil all over my engine bay

I have another one on order from the dealer, cost me like 6 bucks. Infact, that reminds me, it was supposed to be in today. Damn, I should've gone and picked it up so I could get this thing fixed.

Anyone got any other tips or ways to get what's left of the stud out? I guess if there's some sticking out, I can just grab ahold with some vice-grips and twist it out, but if there's none sticking out, I guess I'm stuck drilling it out and re-tapping the hole?
