I just finished installing a injen sri into my SI it was a pain in the *** omfg i got the stock intake out with little hassle but from there wow. The stock hoses put up a fight comin off the coolant hose had some coolant that leaked out when it was removed but that is normal. I had so much trouble trying to get the intake to fit properly the elbow that connects to the maniifold just dosent fit right it puts pressure on the vibra mount for the intake so its still not fitted properly i need to get a new hose and some speed clamps at auto zone. The hose that comes with the intake is too small to use the stock clamps i dont kno why they didnt use the stock size hose size with the intake but i am buying a new hose anyway. I proceed to start the car i let it idle for 15 min's after that i starting reving it a bit at first it sounded normal but after 4,000rpm Woot it shocked but put a smile on my face. I went for a ride after that to check for unwanted sounds and etc i could hear a little whistle sound but i think i kno what it is like i said the elbow fitting is not on all the way. I also notice that the shifter feels way smoother now i guess the stock intake was blocking something because it feels straight butter now. I punched it in 1st through 3rd gear omg when it hit VTEC it was intense i rec this intake to anyone you will get notice right away as you punch the throttle there where some fitting issues but i give it 9 out of 10

 

i thought a cai would be harder to install but congrats on your install

 

Dude the elbow it comes with just dosent want to fit its very frustrating it was supposed to be easy but i ran into this garbage.

 

A cai is slightly harder to install involving removing the bumper (some done it without) and cutting a piece of the fender well.

yeah it sounds like you ran into some of the same problems i did with my LX install..i STILL haven't got any pics yet...i WILL do it tomorrow and get them posted, i think it is a different design than the SI though...but i'll post my pics tomorrow..

sounds amazing though dosn't it...even on the LX it sounds good so i can imagine when the vtec kicks in on the SI how it sounds...

 

Omfg it sounds so good plus it makes the clutch and gas pedal feel more responsive atleast for me it did it begs to reved even more now good luck !
