My quick JDM FD/Fidanza Flywheel write up
My quick JDM FD/Fidanza Flywheel write up
JDM 4.7 FD kit from Hmotorsonline $369 shipped
Fidanza 7.5# flywheel from UltraRev $140 shipped
Tools that I used:
Helm’s manual
Sockets & Wrenches
Punch Pin set
Liquid Gasket or Honda Bond
Pry bar set from Harbor Freight ($9.99)
6” gear puller from Harbor Freight ($21.99 for a set of 4)
3# rubber mallet
3# hammer
Misc. blocks of wood
2” pipe atleast 12” long (I used part of my Craftsman aluminum jack)
Transmission jack from Harbor Freight (not needed, but well worth $59.99)
Jack & Stands
Heavy weight grease (I used Crisco to put together a large bearing that fell apart)
I followed the Helm’s pretty much straight through. My advice for anyone wanting to do this is just follow Helm’s step by step and you’ll be ok. It doesn’t look as confusing as the Helm picture has it plus you will leave of those items untouched. It’s not a black hole as one write up described it.
Once I was done, for the second time, it was well worth it. The car feels like more power in every gear, especially 4th & 5th. My mileage change isn’t worth noting. It feels like a huge difference and was well worth my money and labor. It makes driving more enjoyable and that is the best praise I can give. My only mods are AEM intake & Comptech small tube header.

No one is buying and I always wanted to do this so...
And at this rate, I'll probably take it off the market and keep it.
