I had a b17 in my 92 gsr. I was gonna build it, but decided to just sell it.

I would:

JDM OS B16 pistons
Skunk2 Proseries Camshafts
Adj. Cam Gears
Skunk2 Valvetrain
skunk2/blox/ IM
Skunk2/ITR throttle body
Balance and Micropolish crank
Balance rods
new bearings, gaskets, etc...

and a good tune and you'll have a great motor

not likely , lol. add a set of milled CTR(B16B) pistons in there , get you up over 12:1 compression.

NA to run 12's with a B17 takes alot of work and a hell of a tuner. I would do something along the lines of a good built high reving bottom end... pistons rods etc... as for the top end if you wanna run 12's your gonna need some pretty agressive cams all new valve train... it takes ALOT of work to get your car that quick... Also weight reduction and suspension is key. Make sure you take a **** before you race too....

Chassis setup and $8k in the motor....check out omnimans B16 build up. Follow the same guideline....and then you'll need alot of track time to have the ability to drive it to a 12.

with the setup I described, you will probably be around 180-190whp with a good tune.

run 12's? probably not.. run 13's, maybe with a good driver and good tires, suspension, light rims..

it will definitely be a quick street car and im sure you'll have lots of fun.

I know I do and I have 162whp with a B16.

There are some things I know I some I don't know like what is the difference between whp and hp?

can you explain to me what whp is?

180-190 whp? That doesn't sound too pleasing if I spend hella money on it. How do I make a 250hp car?

whp is wheel horsepower. the actual power being delivered to the wheels. hp is commonly known as chp, hp made at the crank.

250hp = ~205whp

Also note that many many many 250hp cars do NOT run 12s, thus its unlikely you'll get there with 250hp. Spend $3k for a decent turbo setup and you can make 240-250whp....however most of those setups are slower then NA setups due to the "hill" of a torque curve.

2 other choices:
-Sell it and buy a car that actualy has a decent tq/hp ratio
or
-Dump 10k into a NA setup....
