Default GSR cams in a B16a?? Makes power??

My buddy has a pair of 99 GSR cams and I was wondering if they would make more power than my B16 cams. I already have a 96 GSR ECU and I have a flat spot around 4400 RPMS 'VTEC crossover' and I was wondering if this would help get some more power/driveability?? I am getting them for $50 so its not a huge investment, but I would like to know if its worth the effort. Thanks!

The majority said there is no difference, and there was a person who also displayed DYno Sheet, with both b16A cams and GSR cams,

Clif: there is no difference,

To say there's no difference when using the GSR cams over B16 is hard to believe. The GSR cams are more aggressive and I would think, assuming you match tune for the bigger cams, there would definately be a difference.

Their have been numerous dynos with people swapping cams and they actually lost power when they did it. By the way you are better off getting rid of that GSR computer, your motor probably hates you. Think about you are running 1.8 fuel maps in a 1.6 motor and thats just the beginning.

Ur rite, this is the only reason most of the people swap those cams, but they dont find any diffrence in performance,

Could be bacause of IAB in b18c, which are not avalable in B16

You dont like GSR ECUs?? I have not had any problems out of it yet. I am running OBD2a so it was a good choice for the money. Are there any problems that a VAFC cant fix with this setup??

Well to start with, that flat spot? lol if you can't get an ECU that matches your motor having a running car is better than not, but I'd at least TRY to find a matching ECU. BTW I had GSR cams in my B16A but I bought the car that way and have no idea what difference it made. I would think the biggest reason for no difference or a loss would be if they didn't tune for them. I personally don't know about any hard evidence of the difference though.

They are more aggressive, so with tuning you will get more power.....ESPECIALLY for those who are tubro'd
