car is stuffed , need opnions
Hey all:
Just want to get your opinions for this, yesterday afternoon, I was driving 60K/h at fourth gear and the rev is 3000rpm, then suddenly car lost power then felt like something tried to stop the wheel (like wheels were touching the guards when driving ) then battery lights on, so I pulled over side of road, look around in the engine bay (tried to start engine once before that didn’t work), I found that the f**king water pump pulley pop out the plastic case, so basicly I can see a part of pulley broke through the plastic case, around 5 cm long, then all the belts were gone, only PS belt was still there. Yeah, I just got a engine conversion done 3 months ago, I bought everything brand new, like water pump, timing belt, seals……..one of my friends did the conversion too same time at that work shop, so far no problems. Was about two weeks ago had overheating problem , but that was thermo stuffed, then it happened again after I changed thermo and fan switch, so I changed radiator, cos when it was happening I asked the workshop did my water pump if it could be water pump’s problem, but they said that was impossible cos it was replaced three months ago and it did not have any leaks ,everything was normal, damn, if overheat happened again before this **** happends , I would have got water pump checked defiantly, guess it is too late now. Will tow the car back to workshop next week, so do you guys think it is their fault that they installed water pump incorrectly, will take off the head off next week, my heart is broken, it is a really good engine : (

there is not really a way to not install it correct, you remove the old one, put the new one in and install the 3 or 4 bolts that hold it in place.
You belt could of broken and sheared the pump pulley off, you could of just got a bad pump. I say pull it apart yourself and look at it first hand.
Do you have all of the timing covers on?? or was the timing belt exposed?
