What a pain to install, the cotter pins were a bitch to take out and then when I was installing the bushings I had to sand them down some. Otherwise it was a good upgrade. It really make the the shifts firmer and more precise. With all three shifter upgrades ( see signature) I believe it is a good all around package that takes away unneeded movement and makes the shift throw more precise and shorter.

Just for reference... would all 3 of those upgrades work on the FG1?

I know the Comptech SS does.

Must feel really nice after all that

Hi Spoon,

Congrats on the install.

I am not real familiar with the workings of Honda linkage. I know what the short shifter does, I installed one in my car and love it.

What do the other upgrades do? Could describe for me, briefly?

Thanks

The shift base bushing basically sharpen the slop in the shifter assy itself so it doesn't move as much. They are aluminum bushings were as the stock as rubber. The shift cable bushings give the shifter a more solid feel and take away the slop that will accur ovewr time with a factory rubber bushing

I just got my Corsport bushings in the mail and this is what i got:

are these the cotter pins that should be coming with the kit? do they fit, cause they look alot bigger than the stock cotter pins? also what am I suppose to do with the two far right pieces in the picture? I have looked @ a DIY, but it did not specify what to do with the far right pieces in the picture. All help would be appreciated cause I really want to put these babies on.

Also, I heard that the bushings produce premature wear on the tranny cable --> truth or myth?

thanks in advance

yes the cotter pins will fit and the far right parts are called e clips when you get the bushing all the way thru the cable end you will have enough room to press that clip into the slot of the bushing and make it secure

There is not enough room for the cotter pin to fit through. I had to just use one slot on mine. Its not bad for 30.00

I got both pins on mine to work. Personally, the Corsport bushings are one upgrade I wish I would've not done. Problem is, once they're in, they ain't coming out!! Love my SS though.

I know twm performance makes a ss and bushings for the non-si... but be carefully taking off the blue cap..... it's easy to break and or lose. Plus the bushings are a pain in the *** to put on, drop one.... might as well take out your entire center console.... which is easier than reaching into the shifter assembly to get it out.
