Just wondering if its legal to run an electric water pump in SFWD?

thats funny that you asked that because i could of sworn it was illegal for street stock too but i just checked the rule book and it doesnt say anything about it in there...only says dry sumps,vacuum pumps and external oil pumps prohibited

I was going to email them and find out.

 

i am running one too and bought it from thomas at camp 1320. it never says in the rule book no electric water pump.

 

Electric water pumps are NOT legal in the BF Goodrich Tires Street Stock Class.

PS They are not legal on The Urbanracer SPFWD or SPRWD Class either.

 

I had to remove mine 3yrs ago..
In MY experiences,
Stock is better anyway,the higher the rev the more circulation,As to where electric is one set flow,never had any luck with it anyway..


There good for air to water intercoolers.

 

why doesnt it say that in the rule book?

"On the other hand, as to performance equipement, it is the general rule that unless optional performance equipment or performance-related modification is specifically permitted by this rulebook, it is prohibited." - NHRA rulebook

Well, that saying pretty much eliminates loopholes. Just a waste of time and money trying to get around the rules.

heaven forbid allowing people to think outside the box.

 

Just play by the rules and still kick everybody's ***, that's more impressive than having to find the grey areas to do it.

It means that some of us enjoy pushing the rules. I personally find that part of racing.
