Default 93 accord stalling problem after wash help please

so ok my friend bough a 93 accord lx 5 spd and its been running fine for the past week or so but today he decided to wash the engine bay, he told me the car was running as he washed the engine but it then shut off,and would nt turn back on, he then pushed it to the street and tried again and this time it did turn on, but when driving home he felt something strange and if he accecerated quickly the car would stall so he had to be really careful with the accelerator, and now its doing the samething, he says he has difficulty turning it on and when it does turn on he has to step on the accelarator really slowly, what do you guys think this could be? i mean i washed my engine bay before and nothing like this happened, whats your suggestion? please help me out here cause i dont know what to tell him. thanks in advance

look like you are dead in the water. lol

remove the distributer cap, spark plug wires, do you see water ?

don't remove the plug at this point, cause water will get in the combustion chambers.

let it dry, then run for 30-60 minutes, do the oil change

don't do stupid thing like this again.

you may have bad gaskets, seals etc; so water may in side the engine as well, to make sure, do a oil change.

putting new oil in the engine never hurt, but water in the engine?

I just checked the car and the dizzy was loose, I mean real loose so I tightend it but it only help a lil, the car struggles to move and its having problems idling also the engine is shaking and idles at about 500 rpm I mean it really struggles,I checked for water on the cables connecting to the sparkplug but its pretty dry no wet at all however later on ima go home and take the dizzy off and remove the cap to ensure there's no water any help would be greatly appreciated thanks again

First things first, if the car has an distributor and it's old, cover the distributor housing with something to prevent water from hitting the cap. I've also seen water seep down the spark plug tubes, just blow it out..

But anyways, on an old car like, the distributor cap is bound to have a leak somewhere.. Don't forget to check the wires too.. Just borrow some off another car..
