well i picked my tig welder back today for the 3rd time in like 5 months
for them kind of welds you can , purge the tube and do a fusion weld , you only need about 35-40 amps to do so , just keep at it , also what size tungsten and filler rod ???

I would use 1/16" red and put a realy nice sharp point on it , also try some thinner filler for the thinner tube like .045 308l stuff works realy nice
yeah tony told me try some .035 so ill pick that up at the store tomorrow along with some more tungsten.... i still need to get a foot pedal. i got the finger control and am nit really liking it to much
O yeah finger controll would be nice for cages and such but , yeah you will do much better with the foot controll
nice looks like fun. Sorry if im wrong but green tungsten is pure tungsten correct? If so I thought this was used mainly on alluminum. We usually use ceriated (sp?) tungsten on stainless steel. Anyways looks good keep us posted, id love to get a chance to weld some piping, all im doing is boring lap joints and t joints
