Injen intake problems - updates w/ pics and vid
OK, i got my injen intake the other day and installed it. it is the SP1569P model, supposivly convertable from CAI to SRI, so i installed it as SRI however the fit is REALLY tight, it's pushing up against the fan shroud, and the battery platform, and the platform bugs me cause it's kinda sharp and it's pushing right into the side of the cone.
i'll take some pictures tomorrow and get them online but does anyone else have this problem?? or did i possibly do something wrong? like i said, i'll update with pics tomorrow.

on older cai installations
i would zip tie foam around the piping where it would " be tight through areas
so i wouldn't get the typical cuts and marks in the piping.

yeah...it's not so much the pipe that i'm worried about though...it's the filter itself, the cone is jammed up against the metal platform that the battery sits on and the edge of the platform is kinda sharp that's what buggin' me, and the fact that it's pushing right up against the fan shroud...
wild_will said something about i may have a fitment or one of the bends wrong...does it look correct?? i don't know how i could change it.

yes the filter is on the driver side...no it's not by the fog lights because i don't have fog lights...it is directly next to the battery...kinda mashed in between the battery and the radiator hose...i couldn't even put the plastic battery tray back in under the battery because it wouldn't fit with the filter there...
I think people have been having trouble fitting the injen cai into a lx but i know for a fact that the k&n cai for the lx etc fits just keep adjusting its all trial n error dude if i was nearby i would be happy to look at it in person good luck !
yeah...i'm not trying to fit it in as CAI though...CAI would probably fit no problem but i'm trying to run it as SRI, it's a convertable intake...at least that's how it's advertised...
just can't seem to get it to fit quite right...

is anyone else having issues w/ a rough idle after the install?? mine is idleing quite rough every now and again when i like sitting at a red light or something...never stalls (close sometimes)...just wondering if this is a common problem

Yea I sometimes have rough idles also but only after the car has been driven for a few hours. I did the ecu reset during the install too. For your sri problem I suggest you get a smaller filter for a better fit or just install it as a regular cai.
