DIY Paint job on bumpers / sidemarkers
Hey guys,
I'm looking to repaint my bumpers and sidemarkers as well as touch up a few spots on the paint that have chipped a little bit. Most likely what i'll do is buy a front/rear bumper from the guys here on honda-marketplace and then paint it.
I wanted to know if theres a good write-up out there that would help me in this process. I want the job done right the first time. I just bought the car and the guy did a real bang-up job on the front/rear bumpers.
Please keep in mind I don't know a thing about painting car parts. To me, it doesn't look like he sanded it down at all. I can see imperfections in the bumper and it looks like his coats weren't even. Anyways, if anyone could help me i'd greatly appreciate it.
Also, i'm going to try to attach a few pictures of a spot on my front left panel (above the wheel well) where the paint is cracking. Is there a way I can fix this before it gets any worse?
Finally, I know that if I paint my own bumpers that the colors won't be an exact match (unless theres a place that sells original paint. my color code is NH-583M -- Vogue Silver Metallic) and that's okay with me.
That's it! Thanks guys!

please let me know if you can't see the pictures. as far as i've checked, they are working.

Check this guy out: http://myworld.ebay.com/paintpens/
I recently bought a new Acura Milano Red paint pen off this guy and it worked wonders. I touched up all the little chips on my front bumper with the pen. I also covered up a key mark down the side of my car. Paint matches perfectly, and it's a pretty cheap solution (~$17 shipped). Email the guy if you don't see VSM as a color..

Yeah, unfortunately the touch up pens don't come in my color either =\ That's okay, I may try paintscratch.net. However, according to the g2ic site that jvice provided, it says that you shouldn't use clearcoat. Instead, you should use some 3M product that contains polyolefin?[sp?] Can anyone confirm this?

Email him and see if he has your colors!
And, for the record, one side of the pen is for color, the other side is a clearcoat.
