Default Another suspension question (shock collars, bumpstops & bushings)

I remember reading something about Koni shocks requiring one to use GS-R collars and bumpstops to fit. I'm speaking of the parts inside the top hats.

What I wondered is, is that true for Bilsteins as well?

Basically, I'll be ordering new top hats and bump stops, as it will make swapping out the old crap a little easier and the parts are fairly cheap. I just wondered if I'll need to order the R parts or GS-R parts.

The ITR bushings are far harder than the normal Integra bushings. I'd see if I could drill out the ITR stuff before I ever put the GSR bushings in the tophats.

But I'm not sure you need to do so with the Bilsteins.

Yeah, stiffness is another issue.

I'd rather not drill out OEM parts if there's one that fits without modification, but then again that might be the better way if the GS-R parts will allow for more flex.

I do wonder though how drilling out the ITR bushings will affect their stiffness. IIRC, the GS-R part has a 12mm opening while the ITR part has a 10mm opening. Perhaps the difference in stiffness is merely a result of having a smaller opening. I don't know. Maybe the material itself is stiffer.

I know several people are using the Bilsteins here. If anyone can tell me which parts they're using, it would be a big help.

The ITR bushings are one step down from a piece of soild metal. I assure you that drilling them out slightly won't affect anything at all.

I just used ITR parts. Took the tophats off the stock crap and put them onto the GC/Bilstein setup. If you order GC Coilovers the instructions will show you what to do with this setup.
