Will it fit in the back of MY R?
So here is the deal...I'm heading down to Delaware to visit friends and attend the Type R meet in MD on Sat....on the way home i was thinking about Picking up a Samsung 46" 1080P LCD TV since Delaware doesn't have any sales Tax....I would be saving myself about $210......So here is the question with seats folded down will the TV fit in the back?
I'm at work and Can't measure yet.....

as long as it doesnt have a strut brace to get in the way (if so just put some padding over it) then i dont see any reason why not. when the seats are folded down tegs are HUGE inside

we purchased a 42" panasonic plasma and it just barely fit into the back of my wifes rsx.....but it did fit....
we had to move the seat backs forward a bit too.....
i think the rsx has more space w/ the seats folded down, but i could be wrong.....

Can a flat panel be transported on its side for a long distance? I can't remember if my plasma had to be kept upright. I do remember I drove with it upright though.

Beat me to it. I don't know the answer, but I would be concerned.

I just measured my ITR hatch.
The length isn't a problem. The hatch is over 60 inches long.
The height is marginally okay. The vertical clearance between the floor of the hatch and the bottom of the hatch cover where the wiper motor is (assuming yours is not a '97, and has a rear wiper) measures at 16.5 inches. Since I have a thick trunk mat, you can probably do 17 inches without a problem.
The width is the problem. The clearance between the two shock tower moldings is 32.5 inches. So in the box, it's about four inches too wide.
If you're referring to the Samsung model LN-S4695D, the dimensions of the set itself (without the box) are Height 28.8 inches Width 44.5 inches Depth 4.2 inches, so there shouldn't be any problem taking it without the box. Just bring several thick blankets with you.
Incidentally, there are a lot of mail order places where you can get a lot better prices than in local stores. You won't have to pay sales tax at most of them, but you will have to pay shipping, sometimes at high rates. For example, Circuit City has that set for $2,944.99 right now, and Best Buy for $2,999.99, but the Nextag comparison shopping site has four places with prices under $2300. Even with shipping, you would be a lot better off getting it shipped from one of those places, and you wouldn't have to worry about getting it home.

LCD TVs shouldnt have a problem being placed in any position...
And you can return a best buy purchase to any best buy, so no driving back if it doesnt work.

Televisions are warrantied by their manufacturers. So no matter where you buy it, it will have a warranty. Larger sets like these usually include in-home service in the warranty.
If you want the convenience of being able to take it in to your local store in case anything goes wrong, by all means buy it at Best Buy. I would rather have the extra $700 in my pocket.

Not exactly true.
First, most manufacturers warranties on the larger sets include in-home service. (That means yes, they come to your house and fix it.) And that is included no matter where you buy it.
The warranty provided by Best Buy is the manufacturers' warranty, the same one you get when you buy it from any other retailer. If you want an extended warranty beyond that period, you can buy it from Best Buy, or from whatever other retailer where you buy your TV. (Mail order places provide them too.) And you will pay for it. Extended warranties are a major profit item for retailers who sell them (and this is true of televisions, appliances, cars, etc); most people do not save as much as they spend when buying them. But if you want an extended warranty for the peace of mind, go ahead and spend a few hundred bucks on it. Again, I'd rather have those few hundred bucks sitting in my pocket. (With electronics, things tend not to go wrong in years 2-4; if they work for the first year, they're usually fine after that.)
If you want to read more about the various Best Buy warranty options, you can do so on their website.
It's also worth checking into your credit card coverage. A lot of the premium credit cards (gold MasterCard, etc) double the length of the manufacturer's warranty, up to an additional year, when you use the credit card for your purchase.
Again, the only significant advantage of buying from Best Buy is the fact that they're in your neighborhood, and it may be more convenient for you to do so. Is that worth an extra $700 to you? If it is, go there. I'd rather have the $700 in my pocket.

I often buy stuff from BB because I put it on my BB credit card...finance it for 6 or 12 months, and pay it off before paying any interest. Also, I use their reward zone program, so spending money there gets me great coupons, and gift certificates.
But it depends.....700$ is alot more than any savings I would get back out of it.

Thanks for the help guys! I would get the TV from somewhere else but I have a Gift Card from BestBuy for 2K ...So I pretty much need to get it from there....
As for the Transport I'm going to have my friend drive it up next week in his truck when he comes up for thanksgiving. I don't want to take the chance.
