Possibly your battery went south. A battery tender will help keep it charged, but if your r/r is dying, you'd want to replace that too.

r/r = rectifier regulator.....turns the D/C current from the stator (alternator) to A/C and regulates where that power goes (battery, lights, etc.). If it dies, your battery will eventually drain down.
My advice is: buy, beg, borrow or steal a shop manual and get your hands on a good volt meter and go through the trouble-shooting for the electrical system. Otherwise, be prepared to replace expensive parts one by one.
Also sounds like you need to address a fuel system / choke issue too. Might just need to clean out the carbs, but again, the best way is to do the trouble-shooting with the manual...

good luck and let us know how it turns out

definitely get a tender, and look into the regulator. those things go south on F2's constantly.
