I am getting ready to install a new centerforce stage 2 clutch and plate against my already installed, clutchmaster 8lb alum flywheel with new steel pressure ring, into my 01 acura gsr. What kind of gear oil should i use? I have heard a bunch of different applications... : 90weight, redline mtl synthetic lightweight, regular 10w-30 motor oil, or dealer acura honda gear oil... which one do i need??

 

honda oem, pennzoil or gm syncomesh..can't go wrong with one of those

 

You don't want "gear oil", you want Honda/Acura MTF.

 

gear oil belongs in differentials, its fancy 10-30w oil, dont put 75-90 80-90 140- anything like that.

 

YEAH ONLY USE HONDA/ACURA MTF

 

Redline racing transmission oil , at least thats what i have, its been great.

 

Many people say GM syncro is good if your having problems. I run 10-40 redline in mine along with some LSD additive.

 

I've been using Honda/Acura MTF ever since I put in my Exedy clutch and 9lb flywheel and not a single problem. $9 a bottle

 

gm syncromesh is decent...redline oils are great too

 

HONDA/ACURA MTF .....Some Redline fluids will gum around the synchro mesh areas and that = Bad News

 

btw acura made/remade the mtl oil cause of grinds cant rem so its like sycromesh but oem stuff
