Default Type R spoiler?

Hey guys, I have a 1999 Integra GSR. I bought a Type r spoiler (used) from Teknotik. Dropped it off for Jay Team Rukus to install it, got a call later on today and Jay told me the spoiler does not line up properly on the hatch of the car.

My car has original Honda hatch with Low led spoiler on it.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is the whole hatch required from a Type R?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Travis

Thats what I was thinking. The shop I got the spoiler from said that the holes will not line up, and that I have to get the spoiler properly fitted.
I find this odd, as I know many forum members and friends that just replaced their stock spoilers with the ITR and did not have to re-drill anything.

Your not saying this because your last spoiler had the led in it and having that involves a big hole to be their for wiring that an itr wing doesn't require nor will it cover up. So maybe if that is the case this is why it doesn't line up with the existing holes. NO LED!!!

All the integra's have the OEM factory holes placed in the same spot.

They're interchangable because they should line right up.

^^thats a good possability, but the shop that installed it said it didnt line up? they probably meant the extra hole that was left over for the l.e.d harness.

hey guys.

Well the shop that is putting it on made me aware of the hole in the hatch for the led harness. But however said it did not line up properly. Im assuming that the holes do line up. They said the spoiler is sitting way to close to the hatch window, and that it looks odd.

I will ask him to snap some pics so I can post em up if possible.

Im almost certain the shop I got the spoiler from gave me a spoiler for a 4 dr.

As far as the hole that is left, is there anyway to plug it up? or should I just get the whole hatch with spoiler from an ITR?

I say get it back and put it on yourself. It can't be that hard. Why do you need a shop to do it for you?

i could of sworn i heard somebody say before that the holes for the OEM spoiler and the type r spoiler do not have holes in the same place and they therefore had to do some custom drilling into the hatch... i guess im mistaken?

I just put a oem type R spolier on my 97 RS, I did it myself and the only problem was the hole for the LED harness wasnt covered up. so I just put a small piece of electrical tape over the hole.

well the car was at the shop getting the JDM front end installed, and I got the spoiler to get painted the same time the front end was being painted and they said they would put it on.

They know what they are doing, actually do a lot of show cars in my area.

Hopefully I can get this sorted out.

IM a little bit worried about the exposed hole on the hatch from where the harness for the LED used to be..... Im in Canada, wouldn't want that hole exposed to snow etc...

i have a gsr, it had the stock spolier. i had the whole car repainted and added the type r wing, no problem, it lined up perfect and they covered up the holes for the led.

If its a original type r spoiler i should line up. I have a 99gsr and bought a 2001 intgera type r spoiler off of a usdm itr and it fits perfectly.

There are extra holes indeed. You need to do body work or ghetto tape to seal those holes.
