Advice needed on 2002 Accord SE - About to buy
Hi,
I am looking into buying a 2002 Accord SE with about 50k miles on it. The people I am going to buying it from are moving for good to another country. I would like to request from the board on any resources that woudl help me understand the following:
1) Are there any known issues with the 2002 Accord SE cars?
2) Is there something I should be looking out for ? e.g. in the same year car, sometimes there are variations in parts being used and hence issues
3) Any recommendations on what all I should be testing?
4) Should I consulat a professional for checking out the car before buying it? The people I am getting it seem genuine and Hondas are known for thier relablity.
I am checking the VIN with carfax to check the title and I expect that to be a non issue.
Any help is much appricated. I have very little time before I have to make a decision ( 1 day ). Help!!

It's a Honda and its longevity will be dependent on the way how you take care of it. I have a 93 Accord SE with 140k on it and it has been ultra reliable to me since I bought it new.
Like any used car, give it a thorough check to make sure you know what you are getting. Bring along another friend with you if you want another set of discriminating eyes.

That trans still had the tapered bearings in the differential, check around the inner CV joints for any sign of leakage around the axle seals.
I'm not sure if the extended warranty applies to that year, but I've had to open them up before for failed bearings.
