trying to find a 9" wide rim 96 civic
im tired of running through google already.
trying to find a 5x114 bolt patter rim thats 9" wide and around 60+ offset
i currently have a +25 7.5" rim on my car and i love the way it sits.
i'd want a 5 spoke rim preferably but im open to other styles.
anybody got any rims in mind?
thanks in advance
edit: how about "whats the highest offset 9" wide rims you've seen?"

i was thinking a 225
me and my friends fit some weird 9" wide rim on a civic before but i have no idea of the offset.
i realize i sound like a child thats just asking this ****. but im dead serious.
i could go into detail but all im asking for is a 9" wide rim with a high offset

Do you care what size rim? 15, 16, 17, or 18"??
The biggest issue is the tire size although you're going to be hard pressed to fit a 9" rim under there with a tire on it and not rub somewhere. Depending on if and how low the car is. The widest tire you're going to fit is a 225 and a 9" rim is seriously stretching that tire unless it's a race tire and it's still really wide for those.
I don't know off hand. Tire Rack sucks in that you can't have them chack based off of size. They have to know the car they are going on and they will not have a listing for a 9" rim for a Civic.
Find out what other cars have the same bolt patern and look the car up that way./ Then you can check the offsets.

i'd prefer 16's but i think im gonna be going 17's.
i meant to put 245. lol. totally my bad. i didnt even look at the post i was making.
yeah i tried that tire rack thing.
but so far im going to look at suby rims cause one of the years was 5x114. oh well. i'll just keep looking
thanks for replying though.
the best fit i could find was a 8.5width with a 50 something offset. i'd rather go for the 9's though. im sure i'll find one. just gotta keep lookin

I realize that, but that's way too big for even the biggest slicks that would fit.
In any case, decide on your tire size first, and then see what rim widths are approved for them before you look for rims.

im not gettin slicks. i dont even like drag racing. i think it sucks to be frank.
i think i've gone to the tracks to drag race like 2 or 3 times in my whole life.

Then, as old man neri said, you don't need wider rims (or wider tires). You need stickier tires.
Here are some excellent choices that will let you take turns as fast as you and your '96 Civic are capable of:
<u>'96 Civic DX models and hatchback models</u>:
15" rims - 15x6 rims with Goodyear F1 GS-D3 tires in 195/50-15 size
16" rims - 16x7 rims with Falken Azenis RT-615 tires in 205/40-16 size
17" rims - 17x7.5 rims with Falken Azenis RT-615 tires in 205/40-17 size

i dont want to get stickier tires cause i daily drive this thing. so i'd rather have tires that last longer and still give me decent grip. i know all about tread wear ratings and all that crap.
you think corvettes come with 7" wide rims with good tires on? nope.
also i wasnt asking what any of you THINK i should get for my car. i know what I want to do with MY car. so just focus on the original question
or you can go on and on and keep trying to flex knowledge just because you assume that i dont know what im talkin about

What NSXtasy is trying to tell you is there is NO tire that will fit in your wheel well without modifying the fenders besides the following sizes. And none of these following tires will fit on a 9" rim. If you want to raise the car up some you might fit a wider thus taller tire under there but you're not gaining anything from this unless it's a sticky tire.
225 45 15
205 50 15
195 50 15
195 55 15
205 45 16
205 40 17
215 40 17
You can get a 245 45 16 tire and get it on a 9" rim and you just might have a bit more overall grip (if it's a sticky tire) but it's 24.6" tall and getting it to fit right is going to be a trick and getting it under a Honda/Acura that is at all lowered is a pipe dream without flaring the fenders. But your gas mileage, speedo, gearing ect is going to suck.
Why don't you just get some DOT R compound tires for the street instead. They wont last long but if you're looking for something grippy that's the ultimate for the street...even though it's a total waste. But you're not looking for a sticky tire...DOH!!
Your biggest problem is finding a tire that will fit on a 9" rim and fit under the car that works.
I want Kumho to make the 710 in a 255 40 15 but the difference between you and I is I relise they will never make that tire size and I have delt with it realizing I have to find a better solution. Day dreaming isn't always worth while. You're basicly just saying you want a wide wheel just to have a wide wheel...just for looks basicly. Pointless for a DD car. Just speaking my mind.
Now do yourself and us a favor...get a level and a tape measure. Now at the rear of your car put the level on the fender vertical with the ground and get it level. Now measure from your Rear trailing arm out to the level and see what that measurement is. You'll quickly realise a 9" rim is a hope, not a true reality...unless you want to do some fender work. Let alone trying to steer with 9" rims and tall tires up front with no fender flares.
Now there are a few companies that make an 8" rim that fits Honda and Acuras. But you're still limited by the tire being 225 at it's widest for our cars.
Now look what you did, my veins are showing.

Based on your question about 9-inch wide rims, it's quite clear that you don't know what you're talking about.
Based on this latest post, it's also clear that you really don't want to listen to good advice, either.

Tread wear ratings are notoriously unreliable for telling you how long the tire will last. If you look into how the ratings are computed you will know why they are unreliable and are not really used, especially for comparing tires from one company to another. Also if you are worried about tires not lasting you might want to do a cost benefit analysis. A super big tire will be super big expensive, a 15" normal sized tire will be very affordable.

There are several possible reasons for this. The first is that a new corvette weighs a lot more than your Honda, bigger heavier cars need bigger tires. The corvette was also designed with that sized tires in mind.

old man neri seems to be the only one who actually knows anything. true what you said about the tread wear. its more like a general guess. i'd rather buy a set of tires that last me a while and grip as good as the 15" tires that with high grip that wont last as long. see what im sayin? plus if i go to a time attack event, i'd like to put on S tires onto the 9" wides.
nsxtacy stfu. you sound like a highschool student.
and heres some news. i found a 9" wide over the weekend that'll fit. i've already test fitted them and im buying tires

Some what of another misconception. NSXTASY is actually older than me, certainly not a high school student. He is also an auto-cross instructor and has about 30 000 miles on the track under his belt. Advice from him usually comes from a good combination of experience and research probably concentrating more on the former. I would put value in what he says.
But if you found the tires and rims you want than all the power to you.
