For the last 2 days my cars been screwy. Its an 88 Crx si when you turn the key to acc the main relay starts going crazy, eratic fast clicking, silence, clicking. The car will BARELY start, takes 10 tries with lots of reving to keep it alive

Then once you get drive the car bucks and jumps, you cant keep constant acceleration as itll pop and throw a fit. Let off the gas and compression brake and the car sounds perfect

Try and idle and its jumping from 300-1500 and on open downpipe that doesnt sound to hot

I thought it was jus tthe main relay so I grabbed 3 from the junkyard and they all do the same thing so I figure I have another problem.

I need help, tell me what to check and where it is

thermostat ground looks mint to, nice and tight with no movement in the wire, also disconnected the battery ground for 2 minutes and pulled the ecu fuse

I seem to get to solid good 2 second primes, the check engine light stays on the whole time, doesnt go out, the fuel pump shuts up, then the main relay goes into random buzz mode

 

my car was doing that two weeks ago and today. Both times it was the ignitor.

ITS WAS THE DISTRIBUTOR!!!!!!!!!!

I swapped it with a shitty one I had laying around and the main relay primed like normal and the car started right up

No idea what my timing is at but Im happy my car is running
